Our Ongoing Commitment to Safety & Education

At Zinniel Utility Contracting, we are committed to providing our customers with safe, reliable service completed in a timely manner. As such, we hold annual safety and informational seminars to keep our team up to date on the latest safety protocols so that we can continue to offer excellent service to our customers.

Zinniel held this year’s safety and informational meeting at our Sleepy Eye, MN location on April 8. The annual meeting had a tremendous turnout, with all of our employees present and eager to learn. We kicked off this year’s training session with a four-hour informational session—known in the industry as mud school—presented by Jeff Rustad of Baroid IDP. Our team was updated on all the latest techniques for proper drilling fluid usage and mixing techniques.

The excitement continued with our afternoon session on equipment operation and safety, hosted by Kevin Kollos of Ditch Witch of Minnesota. This session reinforced our team’s commitment to safety, reminding us about the best ways to accomplish a job safely and efficiently. During the last week of March, we had sent two employees for a full week of instruction in certification training from Ditch Witch, and so the information in this session was an excellent supplement for the rest of the team.

Overall, this year’s safety and information meeting was a great success. We were able to learn all the latest mud techniques and refresh our knowledge of safe machinery operation. Events such as this are essential in keeping with our ongoing commitment to safety and education.
